The Economy of Bangladesh started transforming from agriculture to manufacturing since early 1980s. Building on growth in export and remittances, it has successfully sustained the transformation. The growth in export is basically observed due to the growth of apparel export to US and European market meaning that the export trade is over dependent on one set of items. Other sectors having potentials are underplaying in export. A strategic effort is therefore needed to foster growth in all sectors to get ready to engage in global value chain. It is necessary to be less reliant on only one export-oriented low-cost manufacturing sector, rather search for new export markets for multi-sectors. Organizing and participating in the international trade fair are recognized as one of the most effective means to promote products. To this end, Bangladesh China Friendship Exhibition Center (BBCFEC) is expected to play a very important role.

Export Promotion Bureau is the Government agency responsible for the promotion of export and expansion of markets of Bangladeshi commodities and services across the world. It is a trade fair that brings all stakeholders under a forum to consolidate the position of manufacturers, exporters, importers, buyers, entrepreneurs, and business communities for making their future deals fruitful and effective. This shall ultimately help them in finding their desired market for their goods and services. EPB helps exporters to participate in the fairs at home and abroad to connect domestic sellers with overseas buyers. EPB also organizes international trade fairs at home and abroad.

Bangladesh China Friendship Exhibition Center (BBCFEC) has been established to create a platform for Bangladeshi manufacturers and service renderers to display their commodities and services to international buyers. EPB aims to develop BBCFEC into an ideal center for exhibitions, meetings, conferences, and related services for buyers and sellers for product and market development.
